Making war more gentle, more Swedish

A lovely example of “banal Nordism” cropped up in the
BBC Radio 4 comedy programme, Clayton Grange.

In this week’s episode our spectacularly stupid scientists
“attempt to make war just a bit more gentle”
– a bit more Swedish.

Few listeners would suspect that this purportedly
most peaceful place on the planet is in reality the home of
Saab AB, the proud producer of the Carl-Gustaf system –
“the best multi-purpose weapon there is”.
